Title(題目): On the number of critical points of solutions of elliptic equations

Abstract(摘要): We study the number of the critical points of solutions of partial elliptic equations. Basically we consider solutions of the equation -\Delta u=f(u) with zero Dirichlet boundary condition. Although this is a classic problem that has been studied for many years, there are still many open problems and important conjectures to prove. In this talk we will mainly consider two cases:

i)the case of contractile domains;

ii) the case of domains with small holes.

In the conference we will start from classic results (Gidas-Ni-Nirenberg, Cabrè- Chanillo) up to recent improvements.
